Tadalafilis a prescription drug used to treat
The active ingredient in Cialis is Tadalafil. Tadalafil is the active substance in this drug. It is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor.
The tablet contains the drug Tadalafil, and it is the time-release. Tadalafil is released from the tablet as a film-coated disintegrant.
The film-coated disintegrant contains Tadalafil as a preservative. The preservative prevents degradation of the drug. Thus, the tablet disintegrant has a prolonged-release duration of 4 to 5 hours. This drug has a longer duration of action than Tadalafil. It has a higher potency than Tadalafil. The preservative affects the drug's absorption rate of Tadalafil. Thus, it is recommended that the tablet disintegrant should be washed with water after each intake to avoid the interference of the tablet's disintegrant.
How does the drug work?Tadalafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED).
Erectile dysfunction is a condition where a man cannot get or keep an erection long enough for sexual activity.
Tadalafil is a drug of the PDE5 type. It is an inhibitor of the PDE5 enzyme, which is responsible for breaking down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP).
The drug cGMP causes relaxation of smooth muscles and increased blood flow to specific areas of the body. cGMP is responsible for relaxing the blood vessels in the penis and increasing blood flow into the penis when sexual arousal is aroused.
Tadalafil is used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This condition is usually treated with an ED drug (for example, sildenafil) but may be reversed upon FDA approval.
The ED drug may be used alone or with other medicines as an adjunct therapy. It is also used in combination with other ED drugs (for example, sildenafil, tadalafil), as an ED drug combination therapy.
Side EffectsThe side effects of Tadalafil may include:
Headache. Flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly sensation). Indigestion. Vision changes (such as blurred vision, changes in color perception, or changes in light perception).
Back pain. Muscle aches. Joint pain. Pain in the upper body. Stuffy nose.
Nausea. Diarrhea. Flushing (redness, warmth, or in some cases, an increased amount of blood can occur). Visual disturbances.
Some side effects of Tadalafil may be reversible upon discontinuation of the drug. For example, tadalafil may be prescribed as a once-daily drug or a once-weekly drug. This drug does not have a long-term effects on patients.
If the side effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Drug InteractionsTadalafil may interact with other medicines and substances, including vitamins, minerals, and other drugs. Tell your doctor about all the medications and supplements you are taking.
Vitamins, medicines, and dietary supplements may interact with Tadalafil.
In addition, some medications and substances may affect Tadalafil absorption in the intestine.

The headlines read “Pharmaceutical manufacturer loosen warnings about erectile dysfunction” and “Brand-name drug may be banned in UK, European Union”. Now to be reviewed.
Pfizer, the UK’s biggest drug manufacturer, is being investigated by the EU commission for marketing a dangerous drug, and for failing to report it to the agency.
Last month, the MHRA announced it was suspending 21 safety warnings for the erectile dysfunction drug sildenafil, which treats high blood pressure and pulmonary arterial hypertension, in the UK, and the European Union (EU) in the EU member states. Sildenafil is a long-acting selective phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, used to treat erectile dysfunction.
The EU commission has also asked the manufacturer, Mylan, to stop marketing the drug in the EU, citing concerns over safety and effectiveness.
Sildenafil is only available in the EU, where the drug was approved in the US in 2012.
Dr Berkeley Phillips, UK medical director at Mylan, said: “This is a major public health concern and the MHRA has been reviewing safety information on the erectile dysfunction drug sildenafil.”
The drug has been banned in the EU, and the company said it was “very disappointed”. Last month, the EU banned sildenafil, with EU restrictions saying it was used for pulmonary hypertension. In October, the European Medicines Agency said it was reviewing “certain products” on the subject, citing concerns over safety.
However, European Commission president Urs Gerhard said the agency “is committed to continuing to work closely with manufacturers to develop safe and effective medicines”.
Last month, the US regulator also suspended the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra’s safety warning on PDE5 inhibitors, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction.
Viagra is still available in the EU, although it is now subject to EU restrictions. It is being marketed as a treatment for male erectile dysfunction, but is being sold without a prescription.
Last month, the US FDA halted the sale of Viagra, citing concerns over safety.Sanofi, the French drug company that makes Viagra, said it is working with manufacturers to develop more safe and effective treatments for male erectile dysfunction. However, the company said it has been unable to confirm the availability of Viagra in the US.
A spokesman for Sanofi said the US regulator “reviews safety and efficacy of sildenafil products”. Viagra is being marketed without a prescription in the US but has been unable to be sold in the EU.
Last month, the MHRA announced it was recalling 40 generic erectile dysfunction drugs.
Pfizer said the recall includes sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil, avanafil, vardenafil + cialis and avanafil + tadalafil.
Last month, the MHRA announced it will be investigating a suspected contaminant in the erectile dysfunction drug, sildenafil, used to treat pulmonary hypertension.Last month, the US regulator suspended the sale of 40 generic erectile dysfunction drugs.
